Janin Wölke
Janin Wölke, born 1982 in East Berlin, is an author, teacher and mother living in Leipzig. Most recently, she has been a finalist for the Meran 2024 Poetry Prize and received a scholarship from the German Literature Fund. Her poetry debut “was passiert wirklich, wenn wir stolpern?”, was published in 2014 by hochroth Verlga Berlin. Her second volume of poetry “unendlicher move” was published by Elif-Verlag 2025. In her dramatic and lyrical texts, Janin Wölke repeatedly deals with questions of identity and socialisation, entanglements of care and gender roles. Most recently, she created the long poem “unendlicher move” which is a collage of pop songs, Disney, Edmund Husserl, newspaper articles, Roland Barthes, children's language and Laurie Penny.
