Liyoun Kim
Liyoun Kim, born 1987 in Busan, Republic of Korea, is a poet based in Seoul and Berlin. She explores how images take shape and are perceived, how the will of media unfolds as it overlaps with images, and the complexities of „seeing.“ Her work examines how language constructs and unsettles reality—not only conceptually but also as a material force shaped by experience. She is interested in how transparency and materiality intersect, revealing uncertainty and shifting the boundaries of sensory reality. She has published the poetry collection “Transparency Blend Space“ (2022) and the essay collection “Soft Material“ (2024) and has received the New Writers' Award from Literature & Society and the Moonji Literary Award.
