Mazda Mehrgan
Mazda Mehrgan was born in 1999 in Kabul, Afghanistan. Currently, she lives in Bad Driburg, Germany. Her poetic writing focuses on social-political poems against religious dictatorship, with a focus on fighting for gender minorities. In 2018, she was winner of the “Young Afghan Poetry” award, in 2023, she won the “Jaleh Esfahani Poetry” award. Her poems “Fatherland Poetry” and “For Papa” were published on the “weiterschreiben” website in 2024 and 2025.
