Nick Crowe und Ian Rawlinson
Nick Crowe and Ian Rawlinson live and work in Manchester, UK, and Niederer Fläming, Germany. They have been an artist duo since 1994, focusing exclusively on collaborative works in the fields of moving image and sculpture since 2007. Their works explore themes of power, authority, environment and national identity. One focus of their work is on energy sources and their cultural impact, particularly the coal and nuclear industries. Since 2017, they have increasingly worked with hand-pressed briquettes made from straw and paper, addressing issues such as recycling and carbon sequestration. Recent solo exhibitions: Vorbrenner, Innsbruck, 2024 and Outernet, London, 2024.
