Olga Martynova

Olga Martynova, born in Russia in 1962, lives in Frankfurt am Main. As a poet, she is deeply connected to the rich heritage of 20th-century avant-garde art, yet she remains rooted in older traditions. Her poems create space for grief, war, questioning, and anger, while also celebrating the ordinary and expressing admiration for the world. Her recent works include “Gespräch über die Trauer“ (2023) and “Such nach dem Namen des Windes“ (2024). Martynova has received several prestigious awards, including the Berlin Literature Prize (2015) and the Peter Huchel Prize (2025).
