Otis Mensah
Otis Mensah is a Berlin-based interdisciplinary artist and poet exploring language and cadence to evoke portraits of the body, family, and home. Drawing from Black musicality, Otis Mensah’s poetic-sonic practice pulls sound and text from archival material, reflections on dreaming, and nature. Their work blends magical realism, queering biblical language, and examining Black diaspora experiences. A former Poet Laureate of Sheffield, UK, Otis Mensah has performed at Glastonbury Music Festival alongside the likes of Moor Mother and Benjamin Zephaniah. Most recently, Otis Mensah's debut collection “Safe Metamorphosis” was published (Prototype Publishing, 2020).
