Peter Wawerzinek
Peter Wawerzinek spent the first ten years of his life in state children's homes before being adopted. After training as a textile designer in Plauen and briefly studying art in Berlin, he took on various jobs while working as a performance artist and impromptu poet. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall, he published his first books—primarily autobiographical novels—alongside songs and journalistic pieces. In 2010, he won the prestigious Bachmann Prize and the Audience Award for “Rabenliebe”. His most recent works include “Geisterfahrt durch Südschweden” (Outbird Verlag, 2019) and ” Liebestölpel” (Galiani Berlin, 2019). He is currently focusing on writing poetry and odes.
