Vocations was conceived in 2023 as a new format for vocal, musical and performance practices rooted in poetry - be it classical music, contemporary music, sound poetry, sound art, singer-songwriting, performance poetry, or spoken word.
In a series of workshops in 2023, new art songs were created through close artistic collaboration between composers and poets.
Since 2024, the format Vocations – open space has been captivating an international audience. The event features a wide range of contributions and performances and lasts up to three hours. In the tradition of literary salons, drinks and finger food are included in the ticket price.
Artists can also apply to participate through an Open Call. All artistic practices that engage with poetry through body, voice, music, and sound are considered.
