A world premiere every day, poetry for kids, text linked with dance, the scenic production of a long poem, concerts, translators' workshops, workshop discussions, and exhibitions: for one week this June, the poetry festival will show the whole kaleidoscope of contemporary poetry. The poetry festival berlin offers international poets a forum to present the great wealth of poetic forms and media – "pure" word art as well as combinations of language and music, performances, sound poetry, visual poetry, rap, and hip-hop.

Authors and artists from 22 countries will be coming to Berlin – they will support us in our effort to present the latest developments in poetry, the most interesting trends, and the most important tendencies at this year's poetry festival berlin. Our focus this year will be on the Spanish-speaking world, a world of 420 million native Spanish speakers and of continuous poetical innovation.
