The poetic is a quality claimed by almost every art discipline. On June 19, 2005 the Literaturwerkstatt Berlin in cooperation with the Zentrum für Literaturforschung Berlin will search for an adequate definition of "the poetic" in our time. At the colloquium, which will be part of this year's poesiefestival berlin, representatives of different art disciplines will discuss "the poetical quality" in contemporary artistic expressions and media productions. The colloquium will consider the fast-moving changes and aesthetic developments of the past recent years as well as links to and interweavements with poetry.

Project direction: Matthias Weichelt

With the kind support of the Commerzbank AG.
