Dorothea Grünzweig and Biddy Jenkinson
Sunday 27th June, 19.00 hrs
Theater unterm Dach
Danziger Straße 101
10405 Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg
Admission € 5/€ 2,50
The German poet Dorothea Grünzweig and the Irish poet Biddy Jenkinson have both chosen Finland as a second homeland. Both poets draw inspiration from the scope and beauty of Finland’s natural environment. During the translation workshop VERSschmuggel the pair meet in Berlin, taking part in this adventurous poetic congress. Whereas Dorothea Grünzweig, in her poems, reflects on her existence in a foreign land, and observes the thumping cold of Finnish winters, Biddy Jenkinson attempts in her poetry to convey a feeling of the sacral essence of nature. For both, the sonority of their poems is a foremost concern.
Björn Kuhligk and Antony Heulin
Sunday 27th June, 19.00 hrs
Bibliothek am Luisenbad
Travemünder Straße 2
13357 Berlin-Wedding
Two young poets, Björn Kuhligk from Berlin and Anthony Heulin from Brittany, meet each other for this poetic challenge. Both are deeply involved in the propagation of contemporary young poetry in their respective home countries. Kuhligk, who with his special intuition of moods writes melancholy poems, and Heulin, who always tries to bind poetry with reality, will discuss together their poetry, and tell of the results of their cooperation during the translation workshop VERSschmuggel.
